Marie Laveau is a character from the third season of the television series American Horror Story (Coven), and is portrayed by Angela Bassett. She is a voodoo queen who sold her soul for eternal life.

She encounters pure evil in the form a white society woman Madame Delphine LaLaurie, who is in fact a serial killer torturing slaves and killed Marie's love. She curses Delphine with eternal life and buries her alive.

Centuries later, Marie declares another enemy in Fiona Goode, the Supreme of the coven in New Orleans. Unlikely circumstances will unite them against a common enemy and old enemies will surface as well...
